YAYASAN KONSERVASI EKOSISTEM ALAM NUSANTARA (KIARA)
We are an Indonesian lead and a 2020 registered non-profit organization in Indonesia (AHU – 0016632.AH.01.04), focusing on the conservation of Javan Gibbons and the forest ecosystem with three main programs: research and conservation education and community empowerment. We have been managing the research program under the name of Javan Gibbon Research and Conservation Project (JGRCP) since 2014 to run a long-term monitoring project initiated and supported by the primate team of Ewha Womans University and IPB University since 2007. We are now partnering to operate it in the field while conducting other research activities in different regions.
VISION:
Actively participate in conservation efforts for the Javan Gibbon and its forest habitat in Java Island, Indonesia
Mission:
Supporting the conservation efforts of the Javan Gibbon and its habitat through scientific research, mainstreaming information, education, and capacity building.
Building community involvement around forest conservation efforts for the Javan Gibbon and promoting sustainable livelihoods in harmony with nature.
Building active and sustainable collaboration with respective. government institutions, and other organizations at the national and international level to support Javan Gibbon conservation.
